Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 29, 1955.

The oldest seal is known since 1417, but dates from the late 14^th century. The seal already showed the local patron saint, St. Margareth, with the dragon. On seals from 1516 until the 17^th century only the dragon appeared. Later seals and images show again the saint. In 1955 the arms were officially granted and the colours finally properly described.
