PETERSBERG

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Fulda
Additions : 1971 Haunedorf, Marbach, Margretenhaun, Steinau, Steinhaus

Wappen von Petersberg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms are granted in 1936 and are canting.

Until 1829 the usual name for the village was Brauhaus (brewery), which is seen in the spoon, used in the breweries. The key, the symbol of St. Peter, and the mountain (Berg) are canting for the present name. The village grew around a Benedictine Petersberg Abbey founded around 800.
