Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 4, 1979.

The village belonged until 1589 to the Lords of Sickingen and from 1589-1793 to the Dukes of the Pfalz-Zweibrücken. This is symbolized by the lion of the Pfalz and the balls of Sickingen. The second quarter refers to the meteorite that fell near the village on May 4, 1869. The third quarter refers to the agricultural character of the region.
