Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on December 14, 1979. The cross and the colours are taken from the arms of the State of Fulda, to which the village belonged for nearly 1000 years. The bend symbolises the historical road that already in medieval times was a main road and runs through the municipality. The crown in the upper part symbolises the former royal estate and court in Motten. The lower half shows a thistle flower, symbolising the nature in the area.
