Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 18, 2008.
The crow in the upper half is a canting element, the Kraut- part of the name is supposedly derived of the medieval word for crow. The lower half is canting for the -scheid part of the name, as it means a newly cleared part of a forest. The three leaves refer to the three villages Bellscheid, Krautscheid and Ringhuscheid in the municipality. A linden tree was an important part of the village,a s under the central linden tree major decisions were made or pronounced.
