Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 8, 1983.
The arms combine elemens from the arms of the former rulers of the area. The first quarter shows the arms of Franken, which also refer to the Diocese of Würzburg. The second quarter is taken from the arms of the Counts of Rieneck, 15th century Lords of Aura. The third quarter shows the arms of the Lords von Hutte, who ruled part of the area in the 14th century. The fourth quarter is taken from the arms of the Lords von Thüngen, which owned the Sinngrund estate from the 14th until the 17th century.
