Origin/meaning
The horse as a symbol has several meanings. It is the symbol of the State of Braunschweig and thus refers to the fact that the village historically always belonged to Braunschweig. The horese also can be seen on the weathervane on the local church and as a symbol for agriculture as well as the Neindorf Estate and court. The estate developed in modern times to a horse trainging centre.
The miner's tools refer to the salt mining in the 19th and early 20th century. The colours are those of the Duchy of Braunschweig.
