Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 28, 1999.
The sword refers to the Court of the Lords von Landenberg zu Wollmerath in the village, the local gallows was placed on a hill near the village. The wheel and crozier refer to St. Catherine and St. Nicholas respectively, the patron saints of the local parish.
The ear in base refers to the Filz Estate farm, first mentioned in 1097, and to agriculture in general.
