Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 15, 1858.

The above arms appeared for the first time at the end of the 17th century for the Dietenhofen and Bonnhof districts. The hornblower was taken as a canting symbol, from Düten, or horn-blowing. The arms also refer to a local legend, in which Empress Kunigunde got lost in the area, but she found her way back by listening to the horn of the nightwatch of the town.
