English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 22, 1981.

The eagle is taken from the historical arms of Aufkirchen. The eagle holds a canting spear (ger), and the colours are those of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, to whom most of the area historically belonged. The chief is derived from the arms of the Counts of Oettingen, who also had several possessions in the area.
