Origin/meaning
The cross is the symbol of St. Afra and refers to the Abbey of St. Ulrich uns Afra in Augsburg, to which a large part of the area belonged untol 1803. The three diamonds are taken from the arms of the Von Schiltberg family, Marshalls of Bayern, who also owned large parts of the village in late medieval times. When the family became extinct in the late 14th century, the area came under direct rule of the Dukes of Bayern. The colours of the diamonds are thus the Bavarian colours.
The wheel symbolises the inductrial character of the present village.
