German | In Rot auf silbernem Dreiberg eine silberne von zwei silbernen Flügeln beseitete Linde. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 30, 1962.
The linden tree and hill refer to the name of the village; the old name was Altenlinde ('old linden) and Hövel means a small hill.
The two wings and the colours are taken from the arms of the Von Melschede family, who originated from the village.
