Origin/meaning

The gable is typical of a Lower Saxon farmhouse and symbolizes the importance of agriculture and the geographical location of the municipality; the four red compartments indicate the four villages in the municipality. The swan refers to the numerous ponds that characterize the landscape of the municipality.
