Official blazon

Geteilt von Schwarz, Silber und Blau, belegt mit einem silbernen Zinnenturm.

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed and granted on January 28, 1857 and again on July 27, 1959.

The black and silver are derived from the arms of the city of <a href=u/ulm|Ulm]] and blue and silver are the colours of Bayern. The castle symbolises that the town was founded as a border town against Württemberg. The present arm show a much more simplified tower than the previous arms.
