RHEIN-NECKAR KREIS (HD)
State : Baden-Württemberg
Additions : 1973 Mannheim, Heidelberg, Sinsheim (partly)
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 5, 1975.
The right half of the arms show a wavy bar symbolising the Rhine and Neckar rivers. The lion is the lion of the Pfalz and symbolises the fact that the area belonged to the Principality of the Pfalz for many centuries.
