WINTERLINGEN
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Zollernalbkreis (until 1974 Sigmaringen
Additions : 1975 Benzingen, Harthausen auf der Scheer
Official blazon
In gespaltenem Schild vorne von Silber und Rot geteilt, hinten in Gold drei schwarze Hirschstangen übereinander.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 13, 1951.
The arms are a combination of the divided shield of the Counts of Hohenberg, who ruled the village in medieval times. The left half shows the deer antlers of the Kingdom of Württemberg, to which the area later belonged. Until 1930 the municipality used only the letter W in its seals.
From 1931-51 the seal showed the divided shield of Hohenberg in front of a linden tree. These arms were never officially granted.
