SEEHAUSEN (ALTMARK)

District (Kreis) : Stendal
Additions : 2010 Beuster, Geestgottberg, Losenrade, Schönberg

Wappen von Seehausen (Altmark)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 18, 1995.

The arms date from the 13th century and show the eagle of Brandenburg with two canting water lily leaves (Seerose). The origin of the name, however, is not clear, as there has not been a lake in the area (Seehausen means lake-houses).
