The arms were officially granted on ?
The boar's head is a canting symbol (Eber=boar). The wavy bar symbolises the Ilmenau river that flows through the municipality. The three red hearts are taken from the arms of the Lüneburg district and indicate that the village was part of the Lüneburg principality and district.
