Origin/meaningThe 13 roses refer to the 12 villages in the municipality, plus Nienstedt, which belonged to the Samtgemeinde until 1971. The wolf-hook was often used on border stones and refers to the fact that the area was on the border of the Gronau and Winzenberg estates.
