Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 14, 1950.
The eagle in the upper half is taken from the arms of the city of Aachen, as historically the village of Aachen was a possession of the city of Aachen.
The trefoil is taken from the arms of the Von Pastor family, who originated in the late 14th century from Haaren and who became an important family in the city of Aachen.
