Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 5, 1997.
The scales in the chief refer to the local court established in 1509 by the Lords of Hopfgarten zu Nazza. The wavy bar in the middle part refers to the Werra. The village developed after forest was cleared (Roden in German), which is symbolised by the fallen tree in the base.
