Origin/meaning
The arms show the canting eagle (Adler or Aar) and mountain (Berg) in front of a crosier. The crosier symbolises the fact that the area was ruled by the Abbey of Eichstätt since 1319. All seals and arms since the end of the 15th century show the same composition. The older seal only showed an eagle.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
Literature : Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
