Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 27, 1997.
The area was settled by Saxon tribes, who built their homes on small artificial hills. One of these original sites still exists in the village and is characterised by a large linden tree. The arms thus show some small hills in the base and a linden tree. The wheel symbolises the spinning industry, which for centuries was important in the village. The left wheel symbolises industry, especially the gypsum industry. The base shows a plough for agriculture.
