Origin/meaning

The arms are village arms and have been designed after the merger of the municipality into the city of Rüthen.

The arms are based on the arms of Rüthen (cross and diamonds). The eagle is taken from the arms of the COUnts of Rietberg, who ruled the village for a long time since 1472.
