Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 10, 1937.
The wheel symbolises the industry in the town, which has grown rapidly in the early 20th century. The wavy bar in the base of the shield symbolises the Lech river that runs through the municipality.
Gersthofen was a longtime possession of the city of Augsburg, and the colours silver and red are those of the city.
