Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 14, 1981.

The red cross is the arms of the State of Trier, to which the village belonged until 1815. The division line is the Gelbach river that flows through the village. The owl is a canting element for the nickname of the villagers, who are named Eulen (owls) by the neighbouring villages. The green background symbolises the forest and nature.
