Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on ?

The shield division is taken from the arms of the Corvey Abbey, to which most of the area belonged for many centuries. The crosier also refers to Corvey and the cornflower is a very common flower in the fields of the village.

The wolf is taken from the arms of the Bishop of Paderborn, Franz Arnold von Wolff-Metternich zur Gracht, who had a number of estates in the area.

The wavy bar in the lower half symbolises the Weser river.
