Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 29, 1970.

The village was a possession of the State of Augsburg, which is shown by the divided shield of Augsburg. The village was given in loan first to the Von Knöringen family, later to the Freiherren Schenk von Stauffenberg zu Jettingen. The lion is taken from the arms of the latter family, the ring from the Von Knöringen family.
