German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

ERHARTING

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Mühldorf am Inn

Official blazon

Über rotem Wellenschildfuß, darin ein blauer Schräglinksbalken, geteilt von Schwarz und Gold mit einem rot gekrönten und rot bewehrten Löwen in verwechselten Farben.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 24, 1984.

The area was in medieval times for a long time disputed by the Dukes of Bayern and the Archbishops of Salzburg. This is symbolises by the lion, which is divided into the gold of Bayern and the black of Salzburg.

The wavy base symbolises the Isen river in the municipality. The blue bend in red is taken from the medieval Lords of Dornberg and Leonberg, who originated from the Dornberg castle near Erharting.
