Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 23, 1964.
The red bend in gold is t he arms of the Margraves of Baden, the chequered field the arms of the counts of Sponheim, the area historically belonged to Baden and Sponheim for quite some time. The fish is a canting symbol, Bach meaning river.
