Official blazon
(de) Schild durch schräglinke silberne Wellenleiste geteilt. Vorne in Rot ein goldener, blaubewehrter, herschauender Löwe, hinten in Blau ein silberner, steigender Halbmond, überhöht von drei silbernen, sechsstrahligen Sternen.
Origin/meaning
The arms show a wavy bend for the Wied river. The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Sayn, to which the area historically belonged. The lower half shows a crescent and three stras, which is derived from the watermark of the largest former papermill in the village. The three stars also refer to the three mills in the village.
