Origin/meaning
The arms were designed in 1902 and adopted in 1903.
The village was a possession of the Lords of Hewen until 1639 when the whole Hewen estate was acquired by the Counts (later Princes) of Fürstenberg. The arms thus are a combination of the bordure of Fürstenberg and the star in a divided shield from the arms of the Lords of Hewen.
