Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 23, 1983.
The chapel is taken from the old arms of Königssee and is the St. Bartholomew chapel. The wave in the base symbolises the Königssee lake. The two fleur-de-lis are taken from the arms of the State of Berchtesgaden, to which the area historically belonged. The fleur-de-lis are slightly changed, the right one shows a knife, symbol for the forestry, and the left one shows a leaf, for the Königssee National Park,
