English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 28, 1972.
The bends and the peacock are taken from the arms of the Counts of Wied, as the area belonged to the county Wied. The scales indicate the fact that Steimel has been a market town for a very long time.
The bases shows the local chapel and the canting hill (Steimel comes from Steinbul, heap of stones).
