Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 26, 1980.
The wavy pale shows the Glan river. The river historically separated the catholic villages of Dietschweiler and Nanzweiler from the protestant village Nanzdiezweiler. The first two were historically a possession of the Von der Leyen family (in blue a silver pale), the latter belonged to the Pfalz (golden lion in black), which is further symbolised in the shield.
