Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??-??- 1956.

The arms shows in the right half the bear of Sankt Gallen. The village was a possession of this Swiss Sankt Gallen Abbey from the 8^th century until 1297. The left half shows the cross of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau, which owned the village from 1492-1805.
