Von Rot und Silber geteilt durch einen blauen Balken, der mit einem goldenen Wellenbalken belegt ist; oben zwei silberne Spitzen; unten ein roter Schildfuß im Lindenblattschnitt.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 15, 1994.

The two points are taken from the arms of the medieval Knights von Mechterstädt. At the same time they form the letter M. The bar refers to the Hörsei river and the base refers to the many linden trees in the village.
