Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1997.
The arms are identical to those of the city of Küstrin, which was split in 1945 into the now Polish city of Kostrzyn nad Odrą and the part on the German side of the river as Küstrin-Kietz. Both now use the same arms.
