Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 5, 1962.

The arms show the Gablingen Castle. The silver bar indicates the Schmutter river, which flows through the municipality.

The fleur-de-lys and the colors blue and gold are taken from the arms of the Fugger family, who acquired the castle in 1527 and who owned it until 1889. The Fuggers had also had large estates in the municipality since 1528, and to this day they are forest owners around Gablingen. Until 1848 the local jurisdiction was in their hands.
