Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 6, 1971.
The arms show on the right half the pales and free canton, taken from the arms of the County of Wied, to which the area belonged from the 14th century until 1806. The black bars refer to the COunty Isenburg, to which part of the area belonged intil 1664. The bordure is a typical symbol for a Verbandsgemeinde. The green refers to the rich nature and agriculture.
