Origin/meaning
The design was adopted in 1901 but initially the colours were natural colours. Since 1960 the above colours are in use. The oldest known seal of the village dates from 1495 and already shows the grape vine. The grapes indicate the importance of viticulture for the area. All later seals, from the 16th, 17, 18th and 19th century all show some form of grapes and/or vines.
