Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 26, 1986.
The arms show a canting bridge (Brücke). The village developed around a bridge over the Oker and was already known as 'Newbrigde' in 1378. The chief refers to the former local castle, which was used as the local courthouse until 1796. The colours are those of the State of Braunschweig, to which the area historically belonged.
