Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 23, 1960.
The arms are canting; a 'Schrotel' is a medieval German word for a stag beetle (Hirschkäfer). The wavy bar is canting for the -Bach (brook, stream) part of the name.
The colours are those of the Pfalz region (black and gold).
