Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 15, 1977.

The base of the arms shows the diamond pattern taken from the arms of the Dukes of Teck, who owned the region in hostorical times. The upper half shows symbolised linden branches, which were taken from the arms of Gutenberg and Unterlenningen. They also are a canting symbol, the name may have been derived from Lendi, or linden. The twisted branches also symbolise the unification of the former municipalities.
