Heddesbach
HEDDESBACH
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Neckar Kreis (until 1973 Heidelberg)
German | In Rot eine silberne Harfe. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were designed and adopted in 1911, but not used until 1950.
The arms show a harp, a canting symbol for the castle Harfenberg (Harfe=harp), built in the 12th century. The village of Heddesbach developed around the castle. The seals of the village all date from the 19th century and show first a barn, later a castle. In 1911 the above arms were proposed, and the council approved of the design. The council however, did not actually use the arms until 1950.
