State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Ostprignitz-Ruppin
German |
Gespalten von Rot und Blau; vorn ein halber silberner Adler am Spalt; hinten drei nach außen offene silberne Hufeisen pfahlweise. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 31, 1995.
The eagle is taken from the arms of the State of Brandenburg. The three horseshoes refer to the importance of horse breeding for the area. In 1788 King Wilhelm II of Prussia established two horse breeding stations near Neustadt. Currently the Brandenburg State horse breeding station still owns 400 ha land in the district. The horseshoes also indicate the agricultural character of the region in general.
