Official blazon
German Im oberen silbernen Felde des geteilten und unten gespaltenen Schildes ein rotgewandeter wachsender Bischof mit goldener Mitra, goldenem, nach links geöffnetem Stabe in der Rechten und aufgeblättertem goldenem Buche in der Linken. Unten (heraldisch) rechts in Blau ein von Rot und Silber (Weiß) zweireihig geschachter Linksschrägbalken (heraldisch), links in Gold (Gelb) zwei rote Balken.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 28, 1959.

The bishop represents the church patron, St. Lambertus of Bremen, to whose parish the entire area once belonged.

The bar is the coat of arms of the Cistercian Order and represents the Himmelpforten monastery located in the area and destroyed in 1943. .

The red bars in a golden field are the coat of arms of the 1162a.wsa.jpg Von Fürstenberg family, whose eponymous ancestral home is in the Amt.
