Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 11, 1981.
The hook is a symbol that the villagers had rights in the Märkerwald forest. The wheatear indicates the agricultural character of the village. The colours are those of the Counts of Isenburg, predecessors of the Counts of Wied as rulers of the area.
