BREITENSTEIN

State: Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis): Böblingen
Incorporated into: 1972 Weil im Schönbuch

Wappen von Breitenstein/Arms (crest) of Breitenstein
Official blazon
German In Silber ein schwarzer Hirschkopf.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 19, 1927.

Before 1927 the municipality had no seals or arms. The arms were designed in the early 1920s and are based on the medieval seal of Rudolf von Breitenstein from 1385. As no colours were known, black and silver were chosen to make it easier to have the arms shown on the seal.
