German In Silber ein schwarzes, aus einem erhöhten blau gewellten Schildfuß zu zwei Dritteln herausragendes Schaufelrad.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 31, 1964.

The arms symbolise the water-mills that operated in the area for centuries in the Bigge river and its tributaries. The black and silver are the colours of the State of Köln, to which the area historically belonged.
